Due to our continual growth and expansion of business activities, we are looking for a dynamic and competent individual to assume the position of:
MATERIAL BUYER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the procurement of raw materials, seal components and subcontract of fabrication works from local and overseas vendors
- Preparation of cost estimation sheets for projects
- Preparation of seal components and raw material delivery schedule for every order
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve quality issues, discrepancies in quantities and pricing error
- Carry out other purchasing functions (e.g. non-allocated issues, transfer vouchers, stock adjustments, stock file maintenance, purchase orders processing, etc).
- Monitoring of seal component and raw material stocks, with the view of keeping stock level low and manageable
- Negotiation of discount schemes and stocking programs with key vendors
- Coordinate with different departments like Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing
- Any other tasks assigned by the Industrial System Manager
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Management
- At least 3 years experience in procurement and logistics management
- Project management experience, knowledge of SAP and MRP would be an advantage
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
