Job Scope
Within the scope of the CS BU Innovation activities, SITA is assessing a brand new business opportunity in the wireless and mobility services arena. These services target aircraft connectivity when landed as well as mobility requirements from professional working in airports. The Airport Coverage programs aims at positioning SITA as the leading global Wireless and Mobility service providers for the Air Transport Industry. The Airport Coverage Program Manager will be in charge of successfully driving the Airport Coverage Innovation Program from market assessment to service definition, deployment and first customers’ implementation.
Job Purpose
The Airport Coverage Innovation Program Manager role will be five-fold:
- Requirements assessment and SITA Airport Value Proposition Development
- Business Model & Go-to-Market model
- Partnership Execution and Management
- Initiation and Management of SITA Airport Wireless Services development
- Airport Coverage Program Management
Requirement assessment and SITA Airport Value Proposition Development: assess SITA customers’ medium and long-term requirements for wireless and mobility services at the airport. Supporting Future Airport and Aircraft Management Innovation programs as well as CSBU and ASBU portfolio evolutions, consolidate SITA Wireless and Mobility requirements at airports. Leveraging SITA assets, develop a successful positioning for SITA benefiting to both airports authority and airport customers.
Business Model and Go-to-Market model: Develop a segmentation of airport Wireless and Mobility business models. Define the best way for SITA to engage with airports of each segment to develop wireless and mobility usage at airports. Leverage SITA global reach to facilitate airline and ground handlers access to local wireless infrastructure. Investigate a business model optimizing airport customers, airport authority and SITA benefits.
Define how SITA will develop its new Wireless and Mobility at airport offering (aggregator, re-seller, distributor, operator…) and market it.
Partnership Execution and Management: negotiate agreements with local airport wireless operators and position SITA as a key partner to develop wireless and mobility usage in airports. Build a meaningful wireless coverage making the SITA Wireless and Mobility @ airport offering attractive. Investigate partnership execution models (internal task-force, out-tasking or partnership) and set-up the selected model. Manage SITA Wireless and Mobility coverage: move, add, changes, operational performances…
Initiation and Management of SITA Airport Wireless Services Development: drive the Product Development of new SITA Airport Wireless Service so that it can be ordered, trouble-shotted, billed…. either a standalone product or as a component to be integrated in broader Mobility / Aircraft Management solution. This activity also includes the support of customer pilots or proof-of-concept to demonstrate SITA capabilities and value-added.
Airport Coverage Program Management: the above activities will have to be managed as a program with clear deliverables, milestones and objectives. The Airport Coverage Program Manager will functionally manage the Airport Coverage Innovation Program team and ensure contribution from involved entities across SITA.

- Airport Coverage Program launch: build the team to support the Airport Coverage Innovation Program. Define first steps and overall plan.
- Airport Coverage Business Case: build the Airport Coverage Business Case to be presented to the SITA SLT and/or Board
- Airport Wireless Services offering launch and Incubation: successful launch and ramp-up (in terms coverage and revenues) of the SITA Airport Wireless offerings.
- Massively contribute to CS BU transformation
- Contribute to SITA image evolution and position SITA as an Innovative company solving ATI industry issues

Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Master Degree in Marketing or Telecommunications – MBA would be a plus
- Strong ATI (especially airport operations) OR Telecom/Wireless background
- High business / sales acumen
- Innovation and / or Product Development experience would be a plus
- Good understanding of Wireless and Mobile technology and services
- Strong communication skills: with customers, partners, internally
- Innovative, result driven and determined
- Ability to navigate within virtual teams
- Ability to cope with very high peaks of activity
- Language: one major European or Asian language would be a plus
