Cost Estimating Engineer – Tuas

Responsibilities

• Review/ visualize request for quotation on non price book options. Seek clarification with sales/business development manager or distributors if necessary. Work with marketing from time to time on identification of standard mark up.
• Generate material and labour cost computations for non price book options.
• Work with engineering department on identification if information pertinent to generation of cost estimates from the design & materials perspective.
• Work with production on identification of information pertinent to generation of cost estimates from the manufacturing.
• Work with the purchasing group to identify suitable and cost competitive suppliers and identify cost of non standard items.
• Check with engineering on estimated dimension and weight. Check with shipping on shipping method and estimated shipping costs.
• Ensure that request for quotations are acknowledged and respanded in a timely manner.
• Generate monthly report on RFQ.
• Review transactions to identify and recommend non price book options that has been frequently requested and ordered and recommend such options to be included into the standard options list.
• Develop and maintain the RFQ master database.
• Any other duties as directed by the supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum requirement – degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering or any other related engineering discipline.
• 2 years experience in industrial equipment cost estimation
• PC literate (Ms EXCEL, WORDS, MS PROJECT )
• Mature, independent and resourceful
• Interpersonal skills
